Experience the effect of rhythm on mind and body in this drum circle. These sessions are open to everyone: You don’t need any experience or musical talent to take part, and drums will be provided!
 
On the surface, a drum circle is pretty much what it sounds like—people gathering together to tap, hit, shake or strike some type of drum to create a rhythmic beat. Besides encouraging self-expression, these resonating beats are known to relieve stress and rejuvenate drummers. 
 
In this drum circle everyone will get a drum. We’ll learn the basic hand positions and sounds, then we put that together to play rhythms. After we’ve played a couple of rhythms, we’ll combine them and listen as they respond back and forth to each other. Try this class and join the community of musicians who are celebrating the art of drumming on Cape Cod.

About the instructor: A co-founder of world-famous fusion ensemble Entrain, Sam is a Berklee-educated percussionist and composer who teaches classes and workshops throughout Cape Cod.
